About -
Legacy of the Hinman Family: Chelsea grew up immersed in Oregon’s wine business, learning from her parents, Doyle and Sue Ann Hinman, who founded Hinman Vineyards in 1972 and played a significant role in the state's wine industry.
Doyle Hinman's Pioneer Role: Doyle Hinman is a true pioneer in Oregon’s wine history, founding one of the state’s earliest wineries and serving in leadership roles, including appointments to the Founders Council of the Oregon Wine Board and the Oregon Wine Advisory Board, helping shape the industry’s future.
Continued Influence of the Hinman Family: Doyle continues to impact the Oregon wine scene through his ongoing leadership, his family's Five H Wines label with international distribution, and his role on the Oregon Wine Board International Marketing Committee.
Balancing Family and Passion: Chelsea, while managing TIOR, is a dedicated mother and community leader, expecting her second child in fall 2024, and pursuing real estate as a hobby to stay connected with her local Portland community.
The Source / Vineyard Site -
The Tior 2022 Pinot Noir is from Domaine Lumineaux, a vineyard owned by The Coppola Family. (Eyrie Vineyard, Domaine Serene Sourcing from Same Vineyard) Domaine Drouhin nextdoor Domaine Lumineaux Vineyard Map
It features 62 acres of land atop the southern peak of the Dundee Hills AVA with an elevation range from 670 to 870 feet. Of the 62 Acres, 42.2 are planted to vine and of that 38.4 are planted to Pinot Noir. The vineyard philosophy is heralded in restraint - meaning everything done is to maintain the personality of the fruit. There is minimal intervention in the form of inputs and irrigation and no fertilizers. All harvesting is done by hand and low vineyard yields are maintained.
